Although the book was informative, and laid out the basic principles, it did not go into enough depth and detail about the "real world of loan processing". It left out anything to do with the principle software that loan processors use...i.e. POINT. Without learning about Point, you are not learning what you need to to process loans. As a newcomer to loan processing, I assumed that the book's claim of "a step by step guide" would be all that was necessary to start processing. Was I wrong. After thoroughly digesting the book, which I spent a good 1-1/2 weeks studying, I was faced by the massive "wall" of learning POINT. Luckily, Point does have free webinars to get you started. However they are NOT all inclusive. I was counting on the book to teach me more than it did.

The book left out most of the basic calculations necessary for Yield Spread Credits on higher interest loans, as well as how to do the inverse...i.e. Charges for Low Interest loans. You have to know how to read, interpret and use the various lenders rate tables. You have to know how to do the simple math. However simple, you must know what numbers to use, and where to put your answers...you must be accurate. It is NOT Intuitive.
